What We Believe
GOD
God is eternal, all powerful, all knowing and always good. God is revealed in the persons of God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit. Genesis 1:1; John 1:1-2; Isaiah 43:13; Isaiah 40:12-31; I John 4:8; Psalm 145; Matthew 28:19
GOD THE FATHER
The Father is kind, compassionate, and full of mercy. He loves every person and desires that every person receive His provision of forgiveness of sins and eternal life through His Son, Jesus. John 6:40; Psalm 145; I Timothy 2:3
GOD THE SON: JESUS
Jesus is co-eternal and co-equal with the Father and the Holy Spirit. He embodies grace and truth and perfectly and completely reveals the nature of God. He lived a sinless earthly life and willingly gave Himself as a sacrifice for the sins of all humanity. He was crucified, buried, and resurrected after three days. He ascended to Heaven, where He now lives to intercede for and draw all people to salvation, through personal relationship with Himself. John 1:1-4; John 1:14-18; Hebrews 1:1-3; I Corinthians 15:3-8; Hebrews 7:25
GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is co-eternal and co-equal with the Father and Jesus. He glorifies Jesus, comes to live in every Christian at the moment of salvation, and guides people into all truth. He gives spiritual gifts to all Christians and we believe all the gifts mentioned in the Bible are operative and needed for today and available to all Christians, regardless of age. We believe that all believers, regardless of age, can hear the voice of God through the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19; John 14:16,17; John 16:7-15; Ephesians 1:13-14; I Corinthians 12:4-11; John 10:4.16,27; John 16:12-14
SALVATION
We believe all people have been created by God for the purpose of having relationship with Him. Because of sin, people have been separated from their created purpose of relationship with God. God the Father sent Jesus to be the atoning sacrifice for the sins of all humanity. This was accomplished through Jesus’ death and resurrection. Forgiveness of sins, salvation, and eternal life cannot be earned by good works. It is a free gift that can only be received by accepting Jesus as Savior and Lord and entering into personal relationship with HIm. Colossians 1:13-20; Hebrews 9:26; I John 2:2; Acts 4:12; I John 5:11-12
THE BIBLE
All Scripture is inspired by God and is completely trustworthy in all matters related to God and faith. The Bible, God’s Word, is the foundation for all of our teaching. II Timothy 3:16-17; John 17:17; Psalm 118:89
